I have shown you the pros and cons. Now, parents, it's time for you to decide! But if you choose to let your child have a device or be on one, just remember to be cautious. But you won't be just left to figure it out on your own. At the bottom of this page there will be some tips for you to help your teen/child have a fun, safe experience online. These are just some general tips for you to make sure your child is safe.

Monitor Your Childs Online Whereabouts•Every once in a while ask your child what they've been up to
• Check your child's google search history • Know if your child has social media and see what they are posting |
Keep Your Child's Accounts Safe
• Know your child's usernames and passwords
• Keep the passwords lengthily and make sure your child isn't sharing passwords • Put your child's accounts on the "private" setting to make sure no one unwanted is looking at their profile |
Look For Signs
• Look for signs of depression in your teen/child. If you see a growing depression put limits on the device usage
• Does your child seem glued to their screen? They might be addicted • Does your child seem to have a new online friend? Check it out. |
Limits• Have a limit for how long your teen/child can be on their device. Make sure it's reasonable for example, one hour.
• Keep a limit on your child's social media usage |
